Alice Rowan

Alice M. Rowan, 79, died on 03/31/2013. She was born in Queens, NY the daughter of Minnette and William Staiger. She was a resident of Prattsville for more than 40 years. She was predeceased by her much beloved husband Arthur W. Rowan in 1998. Alice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William and Clair Rowan, three grandchildren, William, Gia and Kyla, her brother and sister-in-law William and Leonora Staiger of Ocala, FL. and Robert and Carol Rowan, ten nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews. She was very active in her town of Prattsville. For many years she had been an elder in the Reformed Church of Prattsville; chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary of Virgil E. Deyo Post 1327; trustee of the Zadock Pratt Museum; sat on Board of Assessment Review and chairperson of the Prattsville Town of Greene Committee. In addition to this, Alice and Art were foster parents to 42 children over the period of ten years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Prattsville Community Church at 12 Noon. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Prattsville, NY at a later date. Donations made be made in Alice's memory to the Reformed Church of Prattsville.
