Ann Lynn Lauterbach Ecker passed away on September 14, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia and related complications. Born in Binghamton on March 30, 1955 and raised in Windsor and Heuvelton NY, she was the daughter of Esther Lane of Albany and the late Rev. John Richard Lauterbach.
She was a skilled baker by profession who enjoyed sharing her creations with friends and at family gatherings. She was gracious and generous with her hospitality and humor, as well as with her apple pies, carrot cakes and many exquisite varieties of cookies. She was an avid supporter of the achievements of both of her children. She loved to walk and ski in the woods and fields near her home. She enjoyed gardening, playing piano and learning to speak German.
She was the beloved wife of Matthew Ecker, mother of Ada Lauterbach and Lucas Ecker, and sister of Amy Lauterbach (Russ) Pokorny, all of Knox. She is also survived by her devoted aunt Penny Lane of New York City and nephew John Lauterbach of Knox, her dear friend Barbara Stumpe of Germany, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church, 2291 Western Ave. in Guilderland. Friends may call on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont.
