Benjamin J. Kross (Ben), 92, passed away on November 26, 2023. Born in Albany, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Benjamin and Blanch Applebee Kross. Ben was predeceased by his loving wife, Peg, of 35 years. He was the father of Michele (Jim) Strawbridge of Altamont and Nancy (Jerry) DeFrank of Colonie.He was the grandfather of Melissa Strawbridge and Michael Messler. Ben was also predeceased by his brother Harry and sisters Irene, Harriet, Isabelle, Marion, Rosemary, and Patricia.

Ben worked in the waste management business before retiring 29 years ago. He was a happy go lucky kind of guy who often had a smile on his face. As a younger man Ben enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping in the Adirondacks, snowmobiling, bowling, playing darts and shooting pool. He found great pleasure in golfing, which he began playing in his later years, always hitting the ball straight down the fairway.

As his life slowed down, he spent quiet moments relaxing, listening to music while singing along, watching TV, and doing jigsaw and Word Search puzzles. Ben cherished time spent with family where there was always much fun and laughter. Ben will be missed and remain forever in our hearts.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
