Beulah "Bea" St.Gelais, 75, died on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Massachusetts after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Hadley, New York on October 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Daisy (Ellis) Sanders. Bea was a long time resident of Halfmoon, New York. Besides her parents, Bea was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, two children, Jessie and Melissa, and one brother, John J. Sanders. She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church in Halfmoon, NY. She was lovingly known as the church cook and had a passion for cooking & serving others. She also enjoyed making hand crafted items that she sold at local craft fairs. Her & her husband delivered newspapers in the Mechanicville area for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Bea is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Truesdell and her husband, Jay, of Midland Texas, five sons, Mark Bickford and his wife, Katie, of Burnt Hills, New York, Matthew Bickford and his wife, Patti, of Brooksville, Florida, Jody Bickford of Colonie, Robert White of Malta, New York, and Norman White of Belvidere, Illinois, one brother, Ernest (Skip) Sanders and his wife, Gwen of Corinth, New York and one sister, Adele Darrah and her husband, Donald of Lake Luzerne, New York, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. A July 1st memorial service is planned at Temple Baptist Church.
