Charles B. Witherwax

Charles B. Witherwax "Woody", 90, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Kitty Hawk, NC. Born on April 18, 1919 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Edmund and Marguerite Witherwax. He graduated from Draper High School in Rotterdam, NY. He served in the Army during WWII. He received a bachelor's degree from Westchester University, a master degree from Ithaca College and he also attended Springfield College. He was the director of physical education, the athletic director and head football coach at the Liberty Central Schools. Woody was a member of the Dade City Masonic Lodge, where he was the Master in 1990. He was also a member of the Egypt Shrine in Tampa, FL. Charles is survived by Barbara and David Koeblin of Kitty Hawk, NC; a sister-in-law Ethel Mitchell of Downingtown, PA; as well as nieces and nephews. His is predeceased by his wife Jean L. Witherwax. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday March 24, 2010 at 11 AM in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland, NY.
