Clifford L. Whiteley

Clifford L. Whiteley a long-time resident of Berne passed away peacefully in Schenectady on March 4th,2023. He was 75. Born and raised in New York State, he was the son of the late Gordon and Clara Butler-Whiteley. Beloved husband of Cathy Ann (Bergeron) Whiteley; whom he married July 24th, 1977, sharing 52 years of marriage.

Clifford and Cathy Ann started their lives together in Troy, eventually settling into a quieter lifestyle in 1977 in their beloved Berne NY. He was an avid hunter and Berne offered him the peace and solitude he enjoyed in the wooded areas of the Hill Towns. Prior to his marriage, Cliff proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharged in 1969. Additionally, he served in the National Guard for another thirteen years. Cliff enjoyed a long thirty-five-year career with the Verizon Telephone Company in Albany and following his retirement worked as a delivery driver for several companies until his ultimate retirement in 2012.

In addition to his wife Cathy Ann, Clifford is survived by his four children Timothy, Rebecca, Keith and Anita; and his four grandchildren Christina, Mikayla, Dartanyen, and Jacob. Also survived by his sister Lisa.

A committal service will be held in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville on March 16th at 11Am with full military honors. In following with Cliff's wishes there will be no public calling hours. Burial arrangements are entrusted to the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont.
