Constance Scheiderer

d. December 24, 2020

Constance “Connie” Elayne (Truax) Scheiderer, wife of the late Robert Scheiderer, passed away on December 24, 2020 after a progressive illness.  A former resident of Guilderland, NY, Connie spent the past five years residing with her daughter in Poughquag NY.  Connie was born on July 28, 1931, in Schenectady, NY to Hal and Marguerite (Young) Truax. She spent her youth in Schenectady, and graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1949. Connie continued her education at University of Connecticut and White Plains Hospital School of Nursing where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse (1952). Connie and Bob were married on February 5,1955 and celebrated 64 years of marriage in 2019. They started their family in NJ and relocated to Guilderland, where they raised their three children. Connie worked at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on H-2 (med-surg floor) for 18 years.  After retiring, she was a faithful volunteer in Albany Airport’s Ambassador program from 2003 through 2013, greeting travelers and providing information. Connie was a member of the Guilderland Garden Club and enjoyed gardening at her residence, square-dancing, sewing, baking and loved vacationing with her family in Truro, MA. Connie will always be remembered as a sweet, loving mother and grandmother with a heart of gold. Her grandkids called her “Mimi” and she loved spending time with them. She would always count down the days until she would see them again. She was known to all as a caring and compassionate person and loved interacting and helping others.

Connie is survived by her children: Lawrence Scheiderer (companion Dhyan Eagleton) of Lafayette, CO; Pam Arket (Steven) of Poughquag, NY; Lynda Dague (David) of Milford, MA; grandchildren Jason (Megan), Andrew and Scott Scheiderer; Katelyn (fiance Darren Davidowich), Ryan, Daniel and Caroline Arket; Jonathan, Andrew and Matthew Dague; and great grandchildren, George, Henry, Patrick, Rose and Ryan Scheiderer.
