Dana C. Field, 59, died peacefully at home on June 23, 2013. He was born on April 18, 1954 and grew up in Altamont, NY. He graduated from Guilderland High School, Cornell University (B.S.), and SUNY Albany (M.B.A). Dana was married to Clare (Merrill) on May 31, 2003; they were married for 10 blissful years. Dana worked for the New York State Department of Health in the Medicaid Financial Management Unit prior to his retirement in October 2012. Dana was passionate about his cats, cycling amidst the beauty of nature, animal and land conservation, and tinkering in his basement workshop. Dana is survived by his wife Clare; sister, Pamela Richard of New York City; and nephew, Alex Richard (Amy) of New York City. Dana is preceded in death by his parents Frederick K. Field and Jean C. Field. A memorial service and gathering of remembrance will be held at the Altamont Reformed Church on Sat., July 13 at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Altamont Reformed Church, Community Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
