On Friday, April 19, 2024, Dennis A. White, loving husband and father of five, passed away at age 77. Denny was born in Niskayuna, NY to Frank W. and Martha White (nee Sticht). He is survived by three younger sisters: Eileen Bender (Ed), Kathy Cornell (Don) and Mindy Briggs.
Denny was a devoted husband and exceptional provider to his wife Mary (nee Tallman), whom he married in 1975. Together they filled their home with love and made family a priority. He is survived by his wife Mary and children: William H. White (Kasey), Kemberly Palza (Johnny), Carl J. White (Annette) Scott A. White (Sarah) and Samantha S. Perret (Matthew). He is also survived by several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A lover of music, Denny began playing guitar at age 14 and led a band in high school, Denny and the Minute Rockers. Music played a huge role and he continued to entertain throughout his life, leading Blue Thunder Country Band in the 1980's, and later Rickety Rockers and Two's Company. He offered his musical talents to the Berne Reformed Church, of which he was a member, by playing guitar preludes.
In 1965 he graduated from Guilderland High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as an instructor for 6 years. He then served proudly as a Sargeant in the Air Force Reserve on and off until 1984. During that same time, he received a college education at Schenectady County Community College.
Denny is remembered for his unique sense of humor, silly sayings and love of packing tape. He was an avid collector and enjoyed spending time acquiring new items. A member of the Hilltown Seniors, Denny often played his guitar and sang at their parties.
A memorial service is being planned in June at the Berne Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital (PO Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438).
