Altamont- Eileen Ruth McKenney, 88, passed away on February 19, 2015. She was born on February 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Clifford and Ruth Shoro.
She is survived by her children Kathleen (Richard) Hornberger of Guilderland, NY, Harold (Linda) McKenney lll of Gansevoort, NY, Stephen (Susan) McKenney of Clinton, NJ and David (Jan) McKenney of Viper, KY; eleven grandchildren Marcy (George) Casavant, Gretchen Murphy, Erik (Kate) McKenney, Dirk (Erin) McKenney, Michelle McKenney Oliver, Kristofer McKenney, Kimberly (Carlos) Zacarias, Megan (Rich) Coulombe, Matthew (Amanda) McKenney, Amanda (Ben) Wilder, and Joseph (Leslie) McKenney; twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Earl McKenney Jr. in 1965, her son Daniel Joseph McKenney in 1988; and her great grandson Tyler Kristopher McKenney in 2001, her brother Richard Shoro and her sisters Helen (Shoro) Marion and Marion (Shoro) Teeter.
Eileen graduated from Vincentian Institute and attended Albany Business College. She was employed as a secretary with the Guilderland Central School District for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Altamont Seniors and Community Care Givers, and a faithful Parishioner of St. Lucy's / St. Bernadette Church.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 2-5PMat Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St. Altamont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 1PM at St. Lucy's/ St. Bernadette Church, 109 Grand Street, Altamont. An interment will be held in the spring.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the special care provided by Dr. Hedy Migden, Dawn, Kassondra, June, the staff at Atria Crossgate, and the Hospice Inn staff at St. Peter's Hospital.
