Eleanor M. Crounse

Altamont - Eleanor M. Crounse, 91 died on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Ellis Hospital. Born on February 3, 1921 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ransom and Margret Viele. She married the late John C. Crounse on April 4, 1942. John predeceased her on March 27, 2007. She enjoyed plants, flowers, painting, ceramics, children, animals and wildlife. She was a member of the Guilderland Seniors Art Group. She is survived by a daughter Eileen (David) Sebast; a son Gordon John Crounse; two sisters Lolita Quay of Cherry Valley, NY and Olive Gregoire of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren Dawn (John) Pierone, Todd Sebast, Gordon Jeffrey Crounse, and Tracy Simmons; two great grandchildren Devon and Mackenzie Simmons; and her beloved dog Megan. She is also predeceased by two brothers Walter and Ransom Viele Jr.; a sister Evelyn Mangan. A funeral service will be held at 10AM on Saturday April 28, 2012 at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, followed by an interment in Schenectady Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Fredendall Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Arthritis Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation.
