Berne - Frederick Stanley Bosset, 94, years old went straight to Heaven from the Albany VA Hospital on November 3, 2010. He was a devoted husband to Ellajane, who died before him, and the most wonderful father to Dyan Campbell and grandfather to Austin Campbell. His brother Pete predeceased him, and his brother George and sisters - in law Pat and Pauline were a very important part of his life. He has numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the Army, Staff Sergeant Special Services, on Leyte in the Pacific. Stan was an avid hunter, walking the mountains of Jackman Maine for more than 70 years, out there hunting and walking a full day at age 78. He was in the "Biggest Bucks" Club. He loved to fish fresh waters on lakes, streams and the Thousand Islands. He loved life, found pleasure and happiness in the smallest things, and was generous with his time and talents. He was a tile setter/bricklayer by trade, but developed mastery over carpentry and building, pool construction, car racing and repair. He was a great steward of the earth. G.O.D. to him meant the Great Outdoors. He lived independently in his own home and drove until April, mowed his own yard keeping it looking like a park. He developed a passion for Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, always giving away his winnings and points to his daughter. He loved going to Stewart's daily to buy those lucky scratch offs, and winning. He was looking forward to reuniting in Heaven with friends and family. He said repeatedly, "I'm going now, be sure to tell everyone that I love them". A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday November 8, 2010 at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, followed by an interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 Pm to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, C/O Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave 272K3, Albany, NY 12208 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1893 Memphis, TN 38101-9950
