Gordon Alfred Larsen, 77, died at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, June 30, 2012, with his family by his side after suffering from a subdural hematoma. Gordon was born on March 12, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, to Sam and Alfrida (Gabrielsen) Larsen of Norway. After graduating from high school in Brooklyn he spent several years serving in the US Navy. Upon leaving the navy he attended Columbia University, from which he graduated, and then worked on Wall Street as a Stock Broker. For many years his family had a summer home in Lexington, NY, where he came to enjoy memorable family time. In the early 1970s he decided to leave Wall Street and move to Windham, NY, with his first wife, Susan, and their three children where he would be able to enjoy living in the country. He started his own real estate business, Larsen Realty, on Main Street in Windham. He absolutely loved living in Windham and had a keen interest in making the town as attractive as possible. He also never lost his interest in the stock market and began working from home as an investment advisor. Gordon's later years were spent at home enjoying the outdoors and time with his family who will truly miss him. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Wendy; eight children, Deborah, Keith, David, Danielle, Melissa, Lisa, Celeste and Vanessa; ten grandchildren, David, Jessica, Justin, Avery, Eliza, Skylen, Jacey, Zoey, Parker and Brooks. He is also leaving behind his older brother, Arnold, two sisters, Lillian Heide and Marilyn Johnsen, as well as many many nieces and nephews and in-laws. He was loved by many and will forever be missed.
