Troy - Harriet Frances Lajeunesse Warner, 87 of Albany County Nursing Home went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2011. She was surrounded by her loving family. Harriet was born in Whitehall, New York on August 3rd, 1924 to Rosario and Sarah (Scott) Lajeunesse. She graduated Lansingburgh High School in 1943. Harriet married Harold S. Warner in Troy's St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on May 26, 1951. Harriet devoted her life to her family and the teachings of Christ. Over the course of Harriet's life she lived in several communities throughout New York State. As a child she grew up in Waterford and Raymertown. Her father Ross was a dairy farmer and her mother Sarah was a teacher. Harriet enjoyed sharing her childhood memories with her own children. As a young woman Harriet resided in Troy and spent her early married life there. In the mid 1950s, her husband and family moved to Fort Plain and lived there until 1971. The family then relocated to Coxsackie and Harriet continued to raise her family there. In 1995, Harriet returned to Troy and lived with her daughter Susan. Harriet considered Troy to be her "true home." Harriet was predeceased by her husband Harold S. Warner on November 13, 1981. She is also predeceased by her baby daughter Paula Jean, her sister Florence Lajeunesse Hogan and brothers Eugene, Wilfred, Paul, Gerard, Joseph and Bernard. Harriet is survived by her children Mary Ann Martenec and her husband Joseph of Scotia, Susan Himes and her husband Frank of Cohoes, Lawrence and Daniel Warner of Albany and Patrick Warner of Athens, New York. Grandchildren Edward Knier, Lynn Hassy and her husband Kareem of Albany, Haily, Tayler, Hannah and Lauryn "Warner of Athens, great-grandchildren Kasandra, Christofer, and Kareem. Harriet is also survived by her sisters Mrs. Pauline Walsh of Niskayuna and Mrs. Veronica DeRuscio of Staford, VA., also by brothers Francis (Frank) Lajeunesse of Bennington, VT., and George Lajeunesse of Clifton park, New York. Harriet is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care provided to Harriet on B unit at the Albany County Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10AM at St. Lucy / St. Bernadette Church, in Altamont. Interment will be in Knox Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday November 15, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 5-8 PM at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont.
