Irene A. Lauten

Ashland, New York Irene A. Lauten, age 90, a long-time resident of Ashland, NY and formerly of New Paltz, NY died peacefully Dec. 3, 2012 at St. Peters Hospital, Albany, NY. She was born in Hackensack, N.J. , the daughter of Hungarian immigrants, George and Kristina Herold Spitzer. Irene married Edward C. Lauten, Jr. in 1945, he predeceased her in 2002. She is survived by her children Monica Pole (Robert) of Saugerties, NY. Gregory Lauten (Mary), Madison, MS. Glenda Lauten, Lexington, NY. Mary Lou Foertsch (Stephen), Gardiner, NY. Thomas Lauten (Siobhan),Inverness, Scotland, grandchildren, Devon, Ian and Colin Hayes, Michael Foertsch, Karl Lauten, Dulcie Lauten and three great-grand children. A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Windham, NY on Friday, December 7, at 11:30 AM. with burial immediately following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.
