Duanesburg- James Michael Hallak, 66, of Duanesburg, NY passed away suddenly on October 25, 2017.
James was born on May 19, 1951 in Niskayuna, NY to Stanley and Marion Kankol-Hallak. He attended high school at Mont Pleasant. He worked at an industrial supply company in Albany, NY for over 30 years. He was a skilled painter also and took pride in being meticulous. James loved music and he played a number of instruments including the guitar. He was an avid tennis player and played in a national tournament. He served as a minister in the local Duanesburg congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where he volunteered his time to help others learn the bible. His love for his God Jehovah was the most important thing in his life.
James is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Caroline Greer-Hallak and his two children Michael Hallak of Schenectady and Brett Hallak of Duanesburg. He is also survived by his brother Steven (Donnie) Hallak of Rotterdam, his sisters, Beverley Kehoe-Shea and Linda Hallak of Schenectady and his sister Karen Hallak of Anchorage, Alaska.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 3PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 6167 Depot Road, Altamont, NY 12009. Donations may be made to Jehovah's Witnesses at JW.org.
