Joan Vining

Joan T. Vining (86) of Maplecrest passed away peacefully at her home on November 28, 2018. She was born in Greensburg, PA to the late Orestes and Edna Tessaro on June 8, 1932. Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lemuel; daughters Deborah (Rick) Pelham and Denise Vining; sons Fred (Theresa) Vining and Jeff (Ritamary) Vining; and her 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Joan attended Roberts Wesleyan College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She then attended The College of Saint Rose where she received a Master of Science in Special Education. Joan taught at Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School and at Hunter Elementary School for over 37 years. Joan was a remarkable pianist/organist and was known as being an exceptional vocalist. She touched many lives through her love for the Lord and setting a tireless Christian example. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at the Maplecrest Cemetery in the spring.
