John H Miller

Windham: John H Miller, 69 died suddenly at his residence on January 14 2013. He was born in New City, NY, the son of Walter A. and Catherine C. (nee Roberts) Miller on May 8th 1943. He is survived by his daughter Jonelle Miller, his brother Walter Miller Jr., and sister Elaine Albanse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Onderdonk. John moved to Windham in November 1980 from New City, NY. He was born, raised and educated in the New City Area. He was a proud retired NYC firefighter, and a Veteran of the United States Army. John was an avid golfer, skier, and terrific father. He was a member of St. Theresa's RC Church, having served as an usher for many years. He also was a member of the Christman's Windham House Golf Course. Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY on Friday January 18th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday January 19th, 2013 at St Theresa's RC Church at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the FDNY Widows and Orphans fund, 204 East 23rd Street New York, NY 10010, or the Stratton VA Hospital, 113 Holland Avenue Albany, NY 12208.
