John D. Moons

John D. Moons of East Berne passed away November 15th, 2021, in Albany with his loving family at his side. John was the son of Bob and the late Joyce Kuntzman Moons and the beloved husband of Bernice Kochan whom he married August 9th, 2009.

John will be remembered for his love of the small hill town of Berne. He had a fondness for being outdoors and enjoyed skiing in the winter months and fishing in the summer months. As a hobby John made his own maple syrup and cream to share with his family. John’s family will remember him for his sweet tooth and love of candy and sweets. Wherever John was candy and snacks were always around close by. John was a man who cherished the simple life and spending it with his family.
In addition to his wife and father John is survived by his daughter Ila Kochan and brothers Robert (Patricia) and Billy (Dawn) Moons, and several friends in the community.
Family and friends may visit with John’s family in Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main St. Altamont, on Saturday 2-4pm.
