John Peter William Hutchings

Hutchings, John Peter, II (Pete), 56, Pittsboro, NC, went home to the Lord on December 23, 2018. He was born in Manhattan, NY on May 13, 1962. Beloved son of J. Peter Hutchings, Sr. (Myrna) of Columbia, SC and Dr. Sheila M. O'Connor of Scotia, NY. He is survived by his parents, his loving spouse Tonya Marie Bracken, two sons Addison Jude and Symon Tait, and daughter Jinger Paige all of Pittsboro, NC, as well as his sisters Gail P. Hutchings of Alexandria, VA and Claire M. Baldwin of Rotterdam, NY, nephew Ian M. Baldwin, great nephew Aiden C. Winkler, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from across the U.S. 

Pete grew up in Windham, NY and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He made his career as a successful chef, owned and operated The Screamin' Pig Bar-be-cue restaurant in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and most recently was employed by Sodexo as General Manager of Grifol's in Research Triangle Park, NC where he earned the Gold Star Manager Award for exemplary performance. 

Pete was a devoted spouse and father, an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and motorcycle enthusiast. Most precious to him were his children and family. He will be dearly missed by all. 

Services will be held at Decker Funeral Home in Windham, NY on Saturday, December 29 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
