Joseph M. O'Mahoney

Feb.9,2011 Maplecrest, NY- Joseph M. O'Mahoney ,88,of Maplecrest, NY died at home surrounded by his loving family on Feb.8,2011. He was born on June 2,1922 the son of Peter and Mary (nee Sullivan) O'Mahoney in Bayonne, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife Justine (nee Milici), his children,RoseMarie Drum,Joan O'Mahoney,Patricia-O'Mahoney Damon,Peter and daughter in law Marybeth O'Mahoney, Ellen O'Mahoney Mudge and Michael O'Mahoney. He is also survived by eight grandchildren ,eight great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his seven brothers and sisters, as well as his grandson Christopher Drum. Mr. O'Mahoney was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army . He was a vice president of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.retiring in 1982. He was a past director of the Greene Room Players theater group and a long time member of St. Theresa's R. C. Church , Windham, NY. Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Friday 2-11-11 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be on Sat. 2-12-11 at St. Theresa's R. C. Church at 11:00am. Burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the Columbia Greene Hospice, 47 Liberty St. Catskill, NY 12414.
