Katherine A. Settle-Simmons

Katherine (Kathy) Ann (Bastiani) Simmons, 72, of Guilderland, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from complications due to lung disease. Kathy passed peacefully surrounded by many family members. Born in Albany, NY on March 18, 1944, Kathy grew up in the Guilderland area and attended Guilderland HS. She held several different jobs, with the most recent being at Westinghouse Elevator Co., where she worked with her late husband. In recent years, Kathy's life centered around spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their many activities, vacationing with them, and sharing her stories & wisdom. Her other interests included traveling, cooking for family & friends, watching football, and reading. Kathy is survived by her two children William (Will) Folderman and his wife Lee of Sumter, SC, Penny McLaughlin and her husband Patrick of Duanesburg, NY; her siblings Ted Bastiani, Cindy Weldon, Connie DeBenedetti, Raul Bastiani, Linda Beliveau, and Anne Femia and their families; her step-children and their families; four grandchildren, Cassie Leigh & Frank Folderman, and Emily & Allison McLaughlin, and her three step grandchildren; her lifelong best friend Mariellen LeSuer. Kathy is pre-deceased by her parents Raul & Anne Bastiani, a brother Harold Bastiani, her spouse Auvilla (Bill) Simmons, and her daughter Robin Bastiani.
