Guilderland- Louise Sanderson (Ma), entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.Louise was born in Bovina Center, NY on March 8, 1924. Louise retired from the State University of New York. She was active with the American Legion, Helderberg Post #977, Altamont. She was highly affiliated with the Boyd Hilton VFW, and the Voorheesville Rod and Gun Club. One of her passions with the Legion was being active with the color guard. She called them her "penguins". Louise was known in her travels as "Ma" to many. She is survived by her lifelong soul mate Claude (Joe) Smith; the two were together for 56 years; her six children, Joyce Guess (Robert) of Oak Groove, IL, Doris Sanderson of Albany, NY, Lloyd H. Sanderson Jr. of Altamont, NY, Richard A. Sanderson Sr. (Marti) of Altamont, Bonnie VanAuken- Sanderson of Scotia, NY, Monte Schindler (Lisa) of California; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11AM- 12 Noon with a memorial service to follow at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont. The family would like to thank St. Peters' Hospice Inn for their wonderful love and care for our mother. The family would like to express a special thank you to Annie; for her love and care to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
