Margaret E. Gilbert

East Berne- Margaret E. Gilbert, 87, passed away peacefully July 8, 2014 at her daughters house after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on July 30, 1926 in Knox, NY to the late Charles and Pearl (nee White) Bradt. Margaret worked for Owens Corning in Feura Bush as a Data Processing Supervisor. She was an active member of Albany Chapter 11 American Gold Star Mothers, a member of Boyd Hilton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Zaloga American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary and Thompson Lake Reformed Church. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (David) Wagoner; her grandchildren Stacey Rapp of Jersey City, NJ, Richard (Diane) Rapp of East Berne, Brian Rapp of Colonie, and Holly Rapp of West Sand Lake; great grandchildren Spencer and Tyler Rapp and Kyle Roth; her sister Madeline Bradt of East Berne; her niece Marlene(David) Tiffany and nephew William Bradt both of East Berne; her great nieces Amanda (Colin) Thomas ,Sarah Tiffany, a soon to be great great niece and her beloved canine Saydie. She was predeceased by her husband Warren Gilbert, her son PFC Glenn Gilbert and her sister Jennie Rapp. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 4-8PM at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.
