Mariam Aletha Vining, of Windham, NY went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 12, 2015. She was born in Sutton Hollow, NY January 31, 1928, the daughter of Perry and Rosalia Wiers. She met Leonard J Vining JR when they started High School, leaving their one room school houses behind after 8th grade. Mariam married Leonard, her high school sweetheart, June 3, 1947. Mariam is remembered for her gentle spirit and her contagious laughter. She was happy and content being a loving wife and mother, and later, grandmother; one of her greatest joys was to hold and love all the babies in her life, most recently, her Great-Great grandbaby-girl.
Mariam is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Leonard Vining JR, of nearly 68 years, a grand legacy of marriage; a daughter Louise Vining Keneally (Robert Keneally) and 2 sons, Lowell Vining (Jill Zieber Vining, predeceased her) and Leonard Vining, III (Diane Hoover Vining). Mariam also is survived by 7 Grandchildren; Scott Vining SR, Jennifer Keneally Ragland, Christina Keneally Coffin, Brenda Keneally Sims, Sean Keneally, Joshua Vining and Jessie Vining Stevens. Mariam had 19 Great Grandchildren and, 1 Great-Great Granddaughter. There is a Memorial Service scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11AM, with a reception and fellowship to follow, at the Living Faith Community Church, Big Hollow Road, Maplecrest, NY (518) 734-4275. Mariam was a member of the Maplecrest Free Methodist Church/Living Faith Community Church her entire married life and was an active member until recent years.
