Martha Frances Garry

It is with much sadness that the family of Martha "Grandma GG" Garry announces her passing. Born and raised in East Berne, she made her home and raised her family there, and this is where she entered her journey into eternal life. She will be greeted at the gates of Heaven by those who went before her - her parents John and Mary (Stemple) Haluska, Husband George, brothers John, Joe, Charles, and Frank Haluska, and sisters Elsie Megas, Helen Crooks, and Dorothy Robinson. She is survived by her sister Emily Chase of East Berne. She leaves behind to honor her memory her six children, Joan (Morris) Morrow of Fruitland Park, Florida, Sue (Ed) Halse of Guilderland, Barb (Don) Gray of East Berne, Elaine Decker of Altamont, Tom Garry of East Berne, and Mike (Brenda) Garry of Schenectady. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and special Friend Helen Quay. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bonnie and Karina from The Community Hospice, who truly treated her like family. . A funeral service will be at 12 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, followed by an interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne. Friends may call prior to the service from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne. In lieu of flowers, Martha requested that donations be made in her name to the American Red Cross at ARCNENY, 33 Everett Road. Albany NY, 12205
