Mary Louise Nelson

Troy – Mary Louise Nelson, 93, died November 24, 2021. Mary was the wife of the late Thomas Nelson. A graduate of the Allentown School of Nursing, Mary did post graduate work in obstetrics at Boston -Lying-in Hospital. Mary had been a clinical instructor in obstetrics. She had worked at Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu, where she met her husband. Mary also worked at UC Medical Center, San Francisco and at Emma Willard School. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, Mary enjoyed her nursing career, cooking, reading, and flower arranging.
Mary is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mary was predeceased by her parents and siblings.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Spring Avenue, Troy on Friday at 10 a.m. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Church would be appreciated.
