Mary Sherman
Knox - Mary Sherman of Knox passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Geraldine Beimler. Mary was the beloved wife of Dana Sherman. Born and raised in the Buffalo area, her family lived in Marilla. Mary went to St. Mary's School and attended Erie County Community College.
Mary had a range of jobs from working the toy assembly line at Fisher Price, medical research at Roswell Park Institute, Knox Post Office, typesets at the Altamont Enterprise and served for many years as Knox Town Registrar. Mary was always involved in all of her childrens activities, cub scouts, girl scouts, 4-H, however, being a homemaker was her number one priority. Mary was a proud member of the Knox Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for over 45 years. In addition to her devoted husband of 57 years, Mary was the loving mother of Daniel Sherman, Debra (Mike) DiFulvio, and David (Megan) Sherman. Mary was the grandmother of Kevin Sherman, Meaghan (John) Novak, Bobby DiFulvio, Billy DiFulvio, and Kenzie Sherman; great grandmother of Maxon Novak. Mary is also survived by her brother Raymond (Carol) Beimler, and her nephew Jeff Beimler. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her godson and nephew Eric Beimler and her sister in law Aroline Sprague.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m, on Wednesday in St
Lucy/Bernadette Church, Altamont. Friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family in the Fredendall Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s memory to the Knox Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary 2198 Berne-Altamont Road, Altamont, NY 12009 would be appreciated.
