Mildred Katherine Spadaro, 91, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. She was born in Schenectady on August 31, 1919. Growing up, Mildred played the piano, while her brothers played their musical instruments. She graduated from Draper High School and Mildred Elley business school. During the WWII was employed at General Electric. Mildred is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Frank and grandson Mark. She loved to go square-dancing with her brothers on Saturday nights. When she married Frank they continued to enjoy dancing at Pat's Ranch in Altamont. She worked part time in different capacities at Guilderland Central Schools, in the kitchen and driving a school car to deliver kids out of the district. As her kids grew up, she took a job as a receptionist/ secretary at Royal Globe Insurance Co. until she retired at age 65. Mildred was a homemaker most of her life. She was an accomplished seamstress who made everything from drapes, to slipcovers, to entire wardrobes. She loved making her own patterns. The family would like to express thanks to all the very caring and compassionate staff at, Millview Assisted Living, Beacon Pointe Memory Care, and Daughters of Sarah. Thanks also to Dr. Chava and staff at Capital Health Care in Troy. Survived by a son Frank, (Susan Spadaro) of Ballston Lake and daughter Linda Miller, (Charlie Miller) of Delmar, and 4 grandsons, with 3 great-grandchildren, Sister Emily Pudvah and brothers Arnold and Richard Loeber. A funeral service will be held, Saturday April 9, 2011 at 12 PM at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont followed by an interment in Fairview Cemetery.
