Nadeen Sirset

WINDHAM- Sadly, on January 27, 2014, Nadeen Sirset, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was called home to the Lord after passing peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. She was born on November 3, 1935 the daughter of Hector and Jessie (nee Day) DeMorlina in Leonia, New Jersey. Prior to graduation from high school, Nadeen began her dance career training under Balanchine and the New York City Ballet Company. After a long career with the ballet company, Nadeen landed a principal role as lead dancer on the "Sing Along With Mitch Miller" show. During her time with the show, she had the opportunity to go skiing at Mount Snow in Vermont. While on this trip, she met Jens Sirset. They immediately fell in love and got married on the set of the Mitch Miller Show in Dallas months later. Not long after, Nadeen and Jens started a family with the birth of their son Tor. Shortly thereafter, Nadeen shifted her energy and dynamic talents from the TV screen to her new home in Windham, NY. Nadeen was a volunteer for the church, Eastern Star and Catskill Drug Teen Outreach program. She worked tirelessly as a choreographer with the theatrical productions in the Hunter, Windham and Gilboa school districts for decades. In addition, Nadeen taught swimming and ballet to children in the community. She was an exceptional mother. She drove to ski races during snow storms, set up a motocross track in the backyard just so that she could watch her son and his friends. Nadeen was always there with love and affection for her family in good times and bad. She was a dedicated wife for over 45 years that supported her husband and his career. Nadeen was a loving and selfless individual that cared for her family and friends, as well as her surrounding community. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday February 1st 2014, at Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY. A private cremation will follow at Vale Crematory, Schenectady NY.
