Orville Emerson Miller Jr. of Lexington, NY died on November 14th 2011. He was born September 17, 1945 in New Orleans, LA to Orville Emerson Miller Sr. and Eldmay Thelma Faurie. A Jack of all trades and a master of many, Orvie, as his family and friends knew him, served in the US Navy CB unit from 1963 to 1969, having served two tours of active duty in Vietnam as a surveyor and draftsman and commercial artist. He was a former volunteer with both the Town of Lexington Fire Dept, and an EMT with the Lexington Rescue Squad. In more recent years he spent his time traveling to dog shows, showing his English Setters and honing his art of shear sharpening.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jo-Ann R. Miller of Lexington, NY. Three daughters, Ingrid N Clark of Lexington, NY, Kimberly Miller of Lexington, NY, Kirsten Miller-Ogborn, of Hunter, NY, two grandchildren, Maksim Clark, and Cheyenne Ogborn, four siblings Clarence Hayden Miller of Ponchatoula, LA, Eric Albert Miller of New Orleans, LA, William Kirk Miller, of Slidell, LA, and Rita Mae Audler, of Slidell, LA , 8 nephews, 4 nieces , 2 great-nephews and 1 great niece.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 11th 2011 at the Lexington Mission Church at approx 1 pm with refreshments to follow.
