Peggy Kim Olson passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 just a few short weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.
A graduate of Gilboa-Conesville Central School, class of 1981, Peggy later went on to work as an electrician at the New York Power Authority.
Peggy was an adventurous, outspoken yet kind-hearted person. You always knew where you stood with Peggy. Always credited for her amazing cooking and baking, I bet a lot of you are remembering a favorite dish of hers as you read this. The outdoorsy type, you could often find Peggy camping, hiking or fishing. She was never one to pass up an opportunity to take a little extra time off to enjoy the better things in life. Peggy was looking forward to retiring and traveling the world, one of her many passions.
Peggy Kim Vining was born in Seoul, Korea May 7, 1961, and brought to states when she was 10 years old by her parents Sidney and Inga Vining. Sidney later went on to marry Annette Vining, formally Annette Stewart. Sidney was a Sergeant in the Air Force, and was recognized for this outstanding support in the 507th bombardment squadron.
Peggy is survived by her three children, Tanya and Natasha Tyrrell, and Brett Olson, former husband Tom Olson, sisters Laurie Ellis, Shari Riggins, and brothers Gary and Larry Rivenburg.
In lieu of flowers, please carry out a random act of kindness. Brighten someone's day. The way that Peggy always did.
We invite you to celebrate her life Saturday April 9th 2016 at Decker Funeral Home on Main St. Windham. A remembrance will be from 3-5 pm followed by a brief service.
