Richard A. Rose of Altamont NY formerly of South Hadley, MA passed away peacefully in his home with his loving family at his side on October 11th, 2023. He was 86. Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of Gertrude and Cecil Rose, and husband of Betty Hiltsley Aucompaugh.
Richard was a graduate of Kimball Union Academy and furthered his education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst graduating with a bachelor’s degree and completing his education in 1965 at the University of Pittsburg earning a master’s degree in Hospital Administration.  Dick answered his country’s call to service and joined the United States Navy in 1957 proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1961. Dick enjoyed a long career as a hospital administrator working for various hospitals in Massachusetts and retired in 2008 from Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. Dick will be remembered as a man who loved God and his family. 
Dick is survived by his loving wife Betty, his sons Caleb and Andrew, and grandchildren Richmond, Rebekah, Ainsley, Rory, and Liam. 
Richard is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Jon and Robert, and his first wife Marlene Kinney (d. 2009). 
Services will be held be in the First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. Entombment will be in the Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MA, beside Marlene. 
In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation in Richard’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church 209 Union Street, Schenectady NY 12305 or contributions to the purchase of a memorial bench in the Springfield National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street Altamont, New York.
