Richard A. Young

Ashland, NY-Richard A. Young, 77 died suddenly at his home on February 13, 2016. He was born on November 12, 1938 the son of William and Mary (nee Porter) Young in Conesville, NY. He survived by his loving wife of 51 years Betty, his sisters Myrtle Seaburg of Selkirk, NY, Bonnie Russell of Schoharie, NY, Betty Mattice of Richmondville, NY, Linda Chichester of Middleburgh, NY and Joann Fisher of Hunter, NY, his brother in-law Douglas Chichester of Middleburgh, NY, James Chichester of Middleburgh, NY, a special nephew Joseph Fisher of Beacon, NY, and his special great niece and nephews, Cameron, Hailey and Matthew. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Marylou Chichester of Middleburgh, NY. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1961 to 1963. He spent most of his working career for the Greene County Highway Department, retiring in 1994 after 27 years as a foreman. Richard enjoyed four wheeling and he loved his family very much. Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Wednesday February 17, 2016 from 11-1 pm. A service will be conducted at 1pm.
