Robert Greiner

Windham,NY Robert Greiner,71 of Windham,NY died suddenly at his residence on March 20,2011. He was born and raised in Catskill, NY. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Arthur Greiner. He is survived by his children Deborah (Richard )Bastien of Greenville, NY, Michael and Steven (Deidra) Greiner of Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica Fleurent and Victoria and Dalton Greiner as well as his nephew Tyler Greiner. He also leaves behind his faithful friend and companion, "Kemo". Bob was a retired postal employee and also worked at Christman's Golf Course for many years after his retirement. He also was active as an assistant fire chief in the Colonie Fire Dept. many years ago, while he resided in Colonie. He was a long time member and past president of the Knights of the Road in Windham , NY.an organization that sponsors and supports local youth programs and activities on the Mountaintop such as Little League baseball programs, scholarship programs and summer camps .Through his leadership, Bob was very instrumental in making sure that the organization never forgot that the kids were the primary reason for their existence. Calling hours will be held at Decker Funeral Home Windham NY on Wed. 3-23-11 from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thurs. 3-24-11 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Windham Fire Co. or to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.
