Ruth Case formerly from Windham, died peacefully at the Pine Haven Nursing Home in Philmont, N.Y. Ruth was born on April 23, 1915 in Astoria, New York, she lived most of her life in Windham. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond Case.
She loved the mountain top and was well known in the community. She worked for years as a telephone operator. She was a teacher's aid at the Windham Ashland Jewett School and a sales person at Miller Brother's department store. She was also an energetic supporter of the Mitchell Hollow Chapel.
Ruth was a devoted mother to her two sons; Roger now living in Claverack, NY and Ronald living in Troy Alabama. She is also survived by her daughter's in-law Jane and Patricia, grandson Thomas of Glens Falls and granddaughter Jennifer Sullivan and great granddaughters Kelly and Margaret Sullivan residing in Evans, Georgia.
Calling hours will be at the Decker Funeral Home, Main Street in Windham on Monday Oct 17 with calling hours from noon to 2 PM immediately followed by a memorial service.
