Stella A. Cross

Stella A Cross of Prattsville, NY passed away Sunday, February 26 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lexington, NY. She was 1 of 11 children borne to Rose & Lee Delmar. She lived at home until she married Valmer Cross in July of 1947. They had 58 wonderful years together where they enjoyed antiquing, collecting carnival glass and spending time with family. They were very active in the American Legion and spent many years traveling and making memories. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years. She was also very active in her community, where she most enjoyed being a part of the annual Halloween party. Stella is survived by her 2 sons, Valmer Jr (Mike) & Ethel Cross and Vic & Patti Cross. Her grandchildren, Michael & Krista Cross, Christy & Mark Anderson, Rosanne Cross and Regina Cross. Her great-grandchildren, Miranda Cross, Mark Anderson, Nick Cross, Kaitlynn Cross-Grieco, Brianna Cross, Zachary Bunker, Jadyn Ward and Jacey Anderson. Her brother, Sheldon (Tony) Delmar, her sisters, Alice Robinson, Virginia & Robert Gurley and Kitty & Richard Ballard. Her brother-in-law, Robert Husted, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 28th 2-4 & 6-8 at Decker Funeral Home, Windham NY with a short service at 8pm. There will be a celebration luncheon on Wednesday at noon at the Methodist Church in Prattsville. Interment will be Friday at Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA or the American Legion Auxiliary.
