Stephen Michael Frondelli died peacefully in his home on August 25th 2017 in Yorktown, VA due to complications after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 63.
Steve was born on February 2nd 1954 to Dominic and Beatrice (Bailey) Frondelli of Astoria, Queens, New York. He married his wife Debra (Brophy) in 1983 and they have two sons, Shane (Joshua) of Hampton, VA and Joel Frondelli of Yorktown, VA. Steve and Deb moved to Ashland, NY in 1993 where they lived for 17 years before they moved their family to Yorktown, VA in 2010. Steve graduated with high honors from Queens College, Flushing, NY with a BA in American Literature. He also received a cooking degree from Peter Kump's School of Cullinary Arts and a BS in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta. He worked as a chef in the private dining room of J & W Seligman, a NYC brokerage house, Windham Ashland Jewett Central School, Windham, NY as a teaching assistant, an Intensive Case Manager with the Mental Health Association of Columbia and Green Counties, Hudson, NY and his favorite job as a stay-at-home dad caring for their two sons. He was the quintessential family man. Steve loved to hike the Catskill Mountains, was an avid reader, painted, and to play word and board games with his kids.
Steve is survived by his wife Debra, his sons Shane and Joel, and his two brothers Brian (Dianna) of Parlin, NJ and Mark Frondelli of Astoria, NY as well as many nieces, bnephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice, his father Dominic and his brother Damien Frondelli.
Stephen will be cremated and a memorial will take place at Farenga's Funeral Home, 3808 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria, Queens, NY on Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 from 6-9pm and the celebration of Catholic Mass on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2117 45th St, Astoria, NY at 9:30am. A second memorial will be held on Thursday, August 31st from 6-8pm at Decker Funeral Home, Main Street, Windham, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside Hospice, Newport News, VA.
