Steven C. Hoard

Berne- Steven C. Hoard passed away Monday, November 3rd 2014 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital. He was born on March 27 1976 to Ronald and Janet Hoard in Rochester NY. Steven received his Masters degree and went on to become a middle school teacher for Schoharie School District. Steven is survived by his wife Nicole, son Benjamin, his mother Janet, his sister Jennifer Powell and brother in law Michael, his grandfather Charles W. Tuscher, and his mother in law and father in law (Christopher and Gloria Frenza). Steven is predeceased by his father Ronald, and his grandmother Mae M. Tuscher. Steven was a graduate of Mohannasen Central School District, SUNY Oswego and Russell Sage College. Mr. Hoard, who taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at Schoharie Jr./Sr. High School for 13 years, was beloved by staff, students and their families for his caring, enthusiasm and sense of humor. In addition to teaching, Mr. Hoard coached varsity track and wrestling at Schoharie, where he also had served as advisor to the High School Student Government and Key Club. He was also known for being an avid Star Wars fan. Calling hours will be held at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street Altamont NY on Friday November 7th from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM. A mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 8th at 10AM at St. Lucy/St. Bernadette RC Church, Altamont NY.
