Maplecrest NY- Thomas J. Manning,99 died peacefully on August 4,2014.He was born in NYC on August 3,1915 the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Manning He was predeceased by his wife Felicia in 1999. He is survived by his sons Thomas and Jerry and daughter in law Lori Manning. He is also survived by his two grandsons Shane and Gerald Manning.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army-Air Corps from 1943-1947. Thomas was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Golden Ages in Windham, NY. Thomas loved to sing and entertain and was well known for his corny jokes. He belonged to the Albany Veterans Choir. This group would travel to the nursing homes and the VA Hospital in order to cheer up the residents and patients there.
Calling hours will be at Decker Funeral Home, Windham, NY on Thursday August 7,2014. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday Augut 8,2014 at 10 am.
