Costakis, Virginia L. - Kingston
Virginia L. Costakis of Kingston passed away February 24th at the Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston shortly after her family had said their goodbyes and told her it was time to join her loving parents waiting on the other side. Daughter of the late Earl and Shirley Jones-Janssen who will be remembered for loving their children with all their hearts. Virginia later shared the loved learned from her parents with her late husband Hans Costakis, and their son Christopher and daughter-in-law Jackie.
Virginia became a single mother young, raising Chris alone when he was only eight years old. She made it her life goal to ensure her son was taken care of and loved to the fullest of her abilities. Chris remembers his mother by saying "She was an amazing mother and showed me nothing but love. I find an intense sadness in my heart for my own children who will not be able to share the love that I did with their grandmother."
Virginia is survived by her son Christopher (Jackie) Costakis; her grandchildren Rowan Grace Costakis and Christopher Hans Costakis Jr; her wonderful siblings Lawrence, Rick and Debbie Janssen and her niece and nephew Rick Janssen Jr. and Samantha Janssen.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Virginia's family in the Fredendall Funeral Home 199 Main Street, Altamont on Saturday March 4th from 4pm to 6pm. A Prayer service will follow the visitation in the funeral home. Interment will be in the spring in Knox Cemetery, Knox.
