Visitation at Funeral Home
Obituary of June Bohl
June S. Bohl, 87, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2017 after a long battle with COPD. She was predeceased by husband Edward C. Bohl and her beloved daughter Deborah Lee Bohl. She was also predeceased by siblings Robert(Carolyn) Schell, Helen (John) Breckenridge, Shirley(Ken) Conley and Grant Schell.
Born in Colonie, NY to the late Clifford and Maude Schell, she moved as child to West Berne, NY and graduated from Schoharie High School where she was a cheerleader and a majorette. She worked briefly in Albany as a secretary until she moved to Syracuse while Ed finished college at Syracuse University. While raising her family, June and Ed worked together in all their business ventures. She was always always busy.
She was a cheerleader her whole life as she encouraged her family in their endeavors. She loved to travel and would travel to New Mexico to see Debbie, California to see Diane and all over Europe to see Teri. She loved to watch her backyard animals, especially the deer and rabbits, naming the favorites. She was feisty and funny, thoughtful and generous.
She is survived by her daughters Diane L. Bohl of Carmel, California and Theresa J. Bohl of Saratoga Springs, NY. She is also survived by several sisters, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews as well as special pet friends Leo and Skip.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to remember June in a special way, the family asks that contributions be made to a cause dear to her heart, the Make A Wish Foundation (Make-A-Wish America 4742 North 24th St, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016 or www.wish.org and indicate in memory of June).
Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Friday, November 17 at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont. Burial at Prospect Hill cemetery will be private.
